How we protect your files, guarantee privacy, and comply with international data security standards.
All files uploaded to PDFTools are transmitted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2+) encryption protocols. This ensures that your files cannot be intercepted or modified by unauthorized third parties during upload or download.
Once received by our conversion nodes, files are encrypted at rest using industry-standard Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with a 256-bit key length. This is the same cryptographic standard trusted by financial institutions and government agencies globally.
Your files are held temporarily on our secure local servers solely to run the requested conversion or optimization process. To guarantee absolute privacy, we enforce an automated cleanup cron job that completely and permanently deletes all files from our storage nodes exactly 1 hour after processing. We do not keep backups or logs of your document contents.
PDFTools is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell your personal details, email addresses, or document data to third-party advertisers or aggregators. No tracking pixels are utilized on our platform.
Our servers are housed in Tier-IV, ISO 27001-certified secure data centers. Access is restricted to certified systems administrators, and we run automated vulnerability scanning and firewalls to prevent network threats.
